We recently published our first ebook, Staycation, which contains some of our favorite plant based recipes and self care practices. After years of doing our own research and testing ingredients, different brands, and kitchen tools and utensils, we’ve been able to find products that we genuinely love, trust, and use nearly everyday, most of which are contained in the ebook. We don’t have any paid partnerships with these companies, however, we use affiliate links for the products listed below that can be bought via Amazon. It won’t cost you any extra, but it will help us continue to do what we love. We hope you come to enjoy these products as much as we do! Again, we truly love all the products listed below and only share products that we’ve been using for a long time and sincerely believe in. We always look for the highest quality in products, especially the ones that we use on a daily basis.
NUTRITION:
Organic sprouted rolled oats (we recommend buying these at your local health food store or Whole Foods Market as it’s much much more expansive on Amazon for some reason…)
Turmeric powder (We first came across this turmeric + black pepper mix powder about 2-3 years ago at the Long Beach, CA farmers’ market and we’ve been using this product ever since. Turmeric has a significantly higher absorption rate when you add pepper! This is not an affiliate link, they don’t sell on Amazon)
Nutritional yeast (high in protein and vitamin B12, gives food a cheesy taste)
Coconut aminos (this is a great low sodium soy sauce alternative)
Maine Coast Sea Salt (this is pretty much naturally iodized salt -from algae- without the additives or anti-caking agents)
Maine Coast Dulse Flakes (we love adding dulse flakes as a seasoning to make meals more hearty and umami) you can also shop their products directly from their website here
Maine Coast Wakame (Tip: add whole leaf wakame to your grains while cooking so they can absorb all the nutrients. Sea vegetables are high in minerals) or shop their products directly from their website here
Pure Hawaiian Spirulina Powder (we love using spiruling in our smoothies! Spirulina is a blue-green micro-algae and high in enzymes and minerals.)
KITCHEN:
Bamboo straws (this is a no brainer. It’s better for the environment and just looks SO much prettier)
Mason jars (we use 16oz glasses for everything. We didn’t even bother buying actual drinking glasses when we moved into our apartment since they are so versatile. Great to take on the go -just put a lid on- and we like to store our leftovers or homemade yogurt in these.)
Lodge cast iron skillet (cast iron skillets are so versatile and last forever!)
Cuisinart casserole cast iron (our favorite pot for cooking curries, soups, and stews and the perfect size for batch cooking!)
Vitamix high speed blender (this blender is hands down the best kitchen purchase we’ve ever made! We use it everyday for either smoothies, smoothie bowls, soups, dressings, or dips. It really changed our life for the better! The vitamix is expensive compared to other blenders but worth every penny. We linked the model we bough 2 years ago but you can’t go wrong with any model. All of their blenders are equally powerful! Tip: Costco offers really amazing deals from time to time and you can find certified reconditioned blenders on the vitamix website -so be on the lookout 🙂 )
Zwilling chef’s knife (when we moved in together our first purchase was a good knife. It’s really smart to invest in good knives, especially if you cook frequently. They will last you a lifetime. We get them sharpened about every 6 months.)
Zwilling serrated utility knife
WELLNESS:
Epsom salt (we use it so often that we buy it in bulk!)
Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay (we already got so many people hooked on this product! Our skin always feels so clean and smooth after using this. And it really helps with my breakouts!! (Becci))
Gua Sha Stone & Jade Roller (This is like a massage for your face. We like to use the gua sha stone in the evening as part of our nighttime routine to relax the face and get the blood flowing (it’s wild how tight your face can be) and in the morning it feels nice using an ice cold jade roller under the eyes (we keep it in the fridge or freezer))
The Five Minute Journal (this tiny little book helped us shift our mindset to focus on the bright side of life and appreciate all the things that are already amazing. We keep it next to our bed and use it right when we wake up and before we got to sleep.)
Productivity Planner (I don’t even know how we got things done before we started using this planner! This helped us so much to focus on the important tasks and to get better at managing our time wisely.)
Hydro Flask (Spencer loves his 32oz bottle and I couldn’t live without my 64oz bottle! People make fun of me for carrying such a big bottle of water but it’s the only way I can guarantee to get my gallon of water in! It just makes it so much easier to track!)
Manduka Yoga Travel Mat (Spencer got me one as a Christmas gift 2 years ago and loved it so much that he had to get himself one, too. 🙂 They are super lightweight and foldable which makes it easy to fit into a backpack or suitcase!)
Foam roller (it “hurts so good”! I didn’t know foam rollers were a thing until I met Spencer. He uses it every single day. So I started to use it, too, duh!)
Garmin Fenix 5, Premium Multisport Watch (You really need to use this watch everyday to get the most out of it. This is the ultimate watch for fitness progress tracking. Spencer initially bought this to train for his first triathlon. Now whenever he takes it off, you can see a tan line -kind of cute..)
Fitbit Inspire HR Fitness Tracker Watch (This one is way more affordable compared to Spencer’s Garmin watch! It really depends on what you are looking for. I’m not an athlete and I’m more interested in lifestyle tracking. I mainly use it to count my daily steps, monitor my sleep habits, track my periods, and for breath work.)
