We love the flavors of Southeast Asia, but one flavor continued to elude us and that’s the umami flavor within fish sauce. We tinkered a bit with this one and finally hacked the secret to vegan no fish sauce. This has all the umami, tanginess, and heat that we love and goes really well with rice, but you can use this to drastically change up any savory dish!
Ingredients:
2 tbsp coconut vinegar
2 tbsp coconut aminos
1 tsp garlic powder
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of black pepper
¼-½ tsp chili flakes
Method:
Mix all ingredients in a bowl together. This made us one serving each that we used on top of rice, but we would suggest doubling or even tripling the recipe so you can store it in the fridge for later.
